Wedding Gown Shopping! Are you mentally & physically prepared?
You and your entourage are excitedly awaiting the big day; wedding gown shopping day that is!
You’ve pored over every bridal magazine, received an abundance of opinions and advice from web-sites, friends, birds and blogs in search of the perfect wedding dress. Now you are ready to hit the bridal boutiques!
But have you prepared your mind and body? Be mentally and physically prepared prior to trying on that first gown.
Some suggestions prior to wedding gown shopping:

1. Check your calendar to avoid that time of the month, PMS and gown shopping do not mix

2. Prepare a list of the bridal boutiques you will be visiting and their phone numbers

3. Avoid eating salty foods and drink plenty of water

4. Time-out! Stop looking at bridal sites, magazines, etc… give your mind and eyes some rest

5. Speaking of rest; get plenty of sleep the night before

6. Try to avoid being late to your first bridal shop appointment; you want to be calm, cool and collected not sweaty and irritated for the day

7. Do not invite everyone and their mothers to join you, you will end up with way too many opinions

8. Pack a bag with the following:

• a pair of comfortable heels/shoes to wear while trying on gowns
• hairclips or ties to put your hair up

• water bottle

• breath mints

• camera
9. Remember to wear appropriate (and clean!) undergarments so you can properly see how the gowns fit or do not fit you!

10. Last but not least; smile and enjoy yourself

With the fall season just around the corner, it is time for you to get organized! Make it easy on yourself by taking inventory and organizing your jewelry early. Be ready when it comes time to wear your jewelry for all those special occasions and holiday celebrations.

Here are some ways to start getting organized:

Lay everything out on a table or your bed
Sort items according to kind
Match all pairs (earrings, etc...)
Tuck everything away into various & sundry boxes, plastic bags that seal* , old cotton t-shirts** or even ice cube trays

* sealed plastic bags are great for storing sterling silver items in to keep the air from tarnishing those jewelry items
** white clean cotton shirts are great for gently wiping off your pearls after you wear them and for wrapping your pearls and storing in your drawer or jewelry box

Choose one spot or drawer to keep everything in

Being able to find everything is just one reason to organize. Staying organized also gives you peace of mind and you may find some baubles you forgot you even had. If you find you have too much bling, donate or swap with your friends!

June - Summer Thoughts...

It is almost June and I am very excited about Summers impending arrival. I am thrilled for many reasons. One, the kids will be out of school and I look forward to spending more time with them. I repeatedly hear from my friends and family that they are only little once. I adore watching them grow, but already I miss the children they were a year ago. So, I intend to imprint in my mind as much of them as I can. My 5 year old, soon to be 6, wants a scrap book for her birthday. Now that is wonderful idea. She will learn to organize, spell & write better, be creative, and have something we will all look forward to looking at over and over again.

Two, I am very happy for my Brides who recently got married and will begin a new life with their husbands. I am equally thrilled for my prospective Brides and think of what the future holds for them. I get attached to, as I call them, "My Brides". I always think of my brides on their wedding day and wish them only happiness from that day forward.

Third, well this probably should have been second. I look forward to seeing my husband spend more time with the kids, and vise verse. We all get caught up with making ends meat that we tend to forget why we are a family and that we continually need to breath new life into each other. Hence the quote from Maya Angelou at the top of this page. I am placing this quote on my refrigerator as a reminder to live LIFE to it's fullest this Summer!

Happy New Year!

I am very excited about the New Year - 2007!

Resolutions? I try not to make promises to myself, or others, I can't keep. One goal I have set for myself is to keep my Blog more current. I get so busy my Blog tends to get neglected. So, I resolve to update my Blog at least once a month, and please, if I miss a month you can harass me about it!

I have many new and exciting designs in mind and cannot wait to begin creating them.

Although, I remind myself that some of my most amazing designs are inspired by YOU, my friends and clients. You continually challenge me, and for this I thank you.

Bare with me this month, as I create and fill my web-site. I have two small children, who are growing faster & faster each day. I split my time between them, my patient husband, and the business I have created, love and want to grow.

I expect this to be one of my most challenging years as plans for business & personal growth inter mingle with keeping the quality of my work at it's best!

I have Bridal Shows planned and will update you on other, bridal & non-bridal, show dates as they are confirmed.

Wow, HI everyone!

I do apologize fro not updating my Blog in quite a while. I have been very busy designing, creating and selling my one-of-a-kind creations to all my fabulous clients.

Thank you to all my clients who have kept me so busy. You definitely keep me on my toes by challenging me and keeping my creative juices flowing. Thank you as well for your compliments - I truly appreciate hearing from you!

A big THANK YOU to my Spring / Summer 2006 Brides. I enjoyed every moment I spent with you coming up with the perfect pieces to enhance the fabulous dresses you chose for your girls. I am not forgetting the amazing gowns you ladies wore, and the trust you placed in me to add to your Bridal look. Also a thank you to the Mothers of the Brides who took one look at the designs I had in store for the bridesmaids and brides and could not wait to have special jewelry designed for themselves as well. I will miss our meetings!

Thank you to the Brides who worked with me from out of state via the internet. You placed huge amounts of trust in me to create jewelry, that most of you did not get to see in person until a few days, if not the day of your weddings. What a compliment to me and my work! Thank you again for your trust!

Thanks to the husbands, sons and boy-friends who have purchased jewelry from me for the special women in their lives. I appreciate your patronage and your thinking outside the box. I know many of your recipients expressed their surprise to me at receiving such personal, beautiful and unusual jewelry gifts.

I also had fun creating personalized Rosaries and bracelets for the Communion candidates this past season. The feedback from you regarding the recipients reactions was wonderful to hear. For those of you that do not know, I create Rosaries in the recipients birth stone color - they are lovely and are great for both girls and boys! They do not need to be just for a Communion gift - think Mothers Day, Fathers Day, birth of a new baby. Use your imagination!

I am in the midst of creating many new pieces, I am currently using Turquoise, Freshwater Pearls, Crystals, for that touch of bling of course, and many other interesting, classical stones. But, if you know me I am using them in a-typical designs.

Happy Valentines to All!

What a fun day. All year long we tell and show each other how much we love one another. It is nice to have Valentines Day as a extra special reminder.

Plan a special couples or family dinner at home with your favorite meal, even if that meal is pizza. Do something extra special with your loved one(s). Instead of ordering a pizza, make them together at home!

Purchase all your ingredients including your crust and have fun creating your own piazzas with each other. You can even make your crust heart shaped, kids especially enjoy this. It is all about time with each other, and if it takes a designated day on the calendar to make that occur - then go for it!

I have a new item on my web-site it is the "Mommy & Me" bracelet collections. Little girls always want to wear their moms jewelry. Well, now they can coordinate with mommy and feel like a little princess.
